Criss-Cross Art Communications
Between 1974 and 1980 Criss-Cross published the nationally distributed avant garde art periodical "Criss-Cross Art Communications" - and curated national and international art exhibitions focused on "pattern and structure".

George Woodman
George Woodman in the 1970s, as a participant of the Criss-Cross artists' cooperative, was associated with the Pattern and Decoration movement. Married to world-renowned ceramic sculptor Betty Woodman, his paintings have been exhibited internationally including exhibits at the Museum of Modern Art, Guggenheim Museum and Whitney Museum He taught painting and the philosophy of art at the University American Art.
Marilyn Nelson
Marilyn Nelson is on the Fine Arts faculty at University of Arkansas, where she teaches in the Visual Design area. She exhibits her work nationally and internationally.

Fred Worden
Fred Worden, filmmaker, has shown at The Museum of Modern Art, the 2002 Whitney Biennial, the Centre Pompidou, in Paris... He currently teaches film and video production classes at the University of Maryland.
