Between 1974 and 1980 Criss-Cross published the nationally distributed avant garde art periodical "Criss-Cross Art Communications" - and curated national and international art exhibitions focused on "pattern and structure".

George Woodman

George Woodman
George Woodman in the 1970s, as a participant of the Criss-Cross artists' cooperative, was associated with the Pattern and Decoration movement. Married to world-renowned ceramic sculptor Betty Woodman, his paintings have been exhibited internationally including exhibits at the Museum of Modern Art, Guggenheim Museum and Whitney Museum He taught painting and the philosophy of art at the University American Art.
